For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. Romans 8;6-7
Man is a Spirit being residing in a carcass called The Body, He carries within himself a spirit, and a soul enclosed in a Body.
The Soul of man is an eternal vital that will live forever, it is consciousness of divinity resident in every being, The Spirit is the vehicle that connects us with the divine worship. The body is the carcass, a mere carrier subject to decay
Carnality is the state in which all men are brought into this earth by birth, every man that enters this place called earth passes through the channel of Carnality, man will remain in that state until another superior force alters his cause. It is a state of Death, the man is totally ignorant about himself, he breathes, he moves, he sees the sun but, the man is a corpse walking the earth, he is just existing but does not know LIFE.
He is exposed to all the fanfare and the glamour of a temporary passing moment, he settles in these fantasies and calls them enjoyment. He or she begins to build a nest around these objects and thinks of them as the true definition of satisfaction. Man fights to acquire these, competes and kills to attain what he thought to be greatness in the vanity fair but all he is gathering are dust because the man is blind to his real state.
This state is here described as Death (Spiritual Death) most men carry this carnality around, it is the result of all vices and wickedness
This world is a battle ground, the entire universe is a riddled in conflict and the term warfare though strange to many is the reality of Christians.
First, it should be noted that Christianity is not a mere title, it is not an idle dream or a religious dogma, it is not just the usual tag or appellation that
one can put on and put off, it is not joining a Church, it is not reading the Bible, it is not Preaching, Christianity is not praying, it is not giving alms or doing good.
True Christianity involves all the above apart from being an idle dream, true Christianity is more than all that is listed, it is an initiation into Christ
Being a Christian is an enlistment, it is a deliberate decision that marks you out, it involves recognizing your fallen state, and your helplessness, this realization leads you to seeking Help (Salvation) outside of yourself
It brings you to the state of brokenness, where you feel the burden of your inability to be loosed from the Burden that you have found within you.
This result in an inner cry, a longing to be loosed, once you realize that you have been held bound, then you are eager to be freed. This burden brings a man to the description in Isaiah 51;14 “The captive exile hasteneth that he may be loosed, and that he should not die in the pit, nor that his bread should fail.”
When you realize how bound you are to vices, to lust, to greed to sins of all sorts, how you are held captive to things that can damn your soul, an inner desire for liberty begins to well up from within you.
This is the point where a man begins to live, when a man gets to this state of yearning, He has begun to know the true meaning of Life. You will never know True Peace until you find a way out of this utter helplessness.
When a man is exposed, when he is brought out, He begins to seek solutions, men oftentimes never seek solution until they are sick, men hide in the cover of darkness to commit atrocities,
“And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” Acts 16,30
Darkness is a temporal shield, Sin loves darkness, man generally wonders away from the reality, they put things that are important aside until they are in danger. For many, sickness brings them here, others are brought here by disappointments, sometimes deaths, loses brings men to the place of reflection and they begin to demand answers to the matters of their souls.
The Biggest questions
What must I do?
The recurring questions in the state of helplessness are What? Who? How? Why? Where? When? Which when put together results into “what must I do to be saved?”
What?
How?
Why?
Where?
When?
Every man must come to this point in life, you must question everything, many times this will lead you to doubting all that you know.
If you have not asked the question What? There may not be so much about you, You are still toying with life, you imagined that you are living, but you really do not know Life
